Large Numbers

The year 1982 was marked by a number of mass demonstrations against the continued governmental development and maintenance of nuclear weapons arsenals. "Large Numbers" is my response to those demonstrations. The title refers to the way the large numbers involved with large bombs numb us to their terrible effects. Jeff Pierce and Norton Allen performed this piece in a version with actors at concert of the Composers in Red Sneakers in Cambridge, then recorded this version without actors later.
